SMG in the Community
Friends & Family,
Each year SMG Realty hosts our Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the National MS Society. We started this tournament to raise awareness of Multiple Sclerosis within our local community and Real Estate family.
SMG Realty Sales Manager, Stephanie Dibbs knows how MS can affect one’s life. Her mother, Nina, is the inspiration for this tournament. Over 20 years ago Nina was diagnosed with MS.
Within the years that SMG Realty has hosted this tournament, Nina has progressed from temporary numbness in her legs to almost permanent paralysis requiring the use of a wheelchair. Nina is not alone. There are far too many others that share Nina’s story. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the nervous system. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of the disease cannot be predicted. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can last forever. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.
SMG Realty and the National MS Society are dedicated to ending the devastating effects of Multiple Sclerosis. We ask that you Join the Movement® to create a world free of MS.
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn’t.
We help each person address the challenges of living with MS through our 50-state network of chapters. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
- We are moving research forward by relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment and cure.
- We are moving to reach out and respond to individuals, families and communities living with multiple sclerosis.
- We are moving politicians and legislation to champion the needs of people with MS through activism, advocacy and influence.
We are moving to mobilize the millions of people who want to do something about MS now
